Electric Fireplace TV Stand – The focal point of a house with a fireplace is the fireplace itself. However, if you own a large plasma or LCD screen, you want the TV to show as the focal point. You can combine the fireplace and TV in a focal point to mount the TV above the fireplace, but before doing so, you should know some of the problems that can arise from mounting a TV above the fireplace.

Most plasma and LCD TVs should hang in a place where the temperature is between 32 and 100 degrees F. You will need to place a thermometer above the fireplace while it is burning to check the temperature in the area above the opening of the chimney, and leave the thermometer there all the time that the chimney would operate while checking the temperature every hour. In one hour, the temperature could be tested within range, but a fireplace that runs for six or seven hours can produce more heat over time. If the temperature passes over the chimney, you can mount the TV above the fireplace.

It must have electrical power. You do not want annoying wires running down the side of the fireplace. Cable or satellite should connect to the TV too. If you have a cinema system or game systems, these elements should have cables that go to the television as well. You must determine how to run the cables to the TV, and keep the receivers and other components free of the heat generated by the fireplace.
