The patio sliding glass door handle with two latches to secure the door when closing. Cold and hot weather temperatures make the sliding glass door and the frame of a contract, often require adjustments to the door latch. To fix a sliding glass door handle you need to determine what needs to be adjusted. If the door will not latch properly, the strike should adjust. If you are able to move the door a little when the latch is activated, the retention cams require adjustment.
Open the sliding door halfway so that you can access the locking mechanism on the edge of the door. Find the two adjusting screws of the hooking cams. The hitch cams are the two hooks that trap the top of the door. Turn the screw adjustment clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver to remove the hitch cam on the inside of the door panel. Close the sliding door until it is closed. Try pulling the door latch the latch. The door should only move slightly, in any case. Continue making adjustments to the hitch cams as necessary.
